Preparations

Only 72 days left until we leave for St. Kitts. As the time dwindles, we're realizing how much more we have to do...

One of the main things to complete is a long list of immunizations for things such as rabies and TB. They are no longer requiring an HIV test, which I thought was rather odd...but what do I know?  Not getting him tested is going to save us $20, so I'm okay with that. :)

Another to-do, is to apply for a bank account which seems simple, and should be, but we have to fill out the application now, or apparently we'll be bank-less with little to no money when we arrive. Yikes! I've also heard that people don't value or recognize urgency down there, so we should really get as much done before we get to the island...otherwise we'll be impatiently waiting for others to help us, and that could take a while.

We've also received miscellaneous emails regarding our pets and what we need to do to make sure they don't get deported upon arrival. We have to get them microchipped (mandatory!), apply for doggie licenses once we get to the island, gather their health records, etc. Thankfully we don't really need to complete this checklist until this summer since the dogs and I won't be moving until September. I've also heard a rumor stating that our dogs will have to be quarantined for a month before they can roam the island...not sure Milo or Trooper are going to like that.

I also wanted to share a few more photos.  The pictures below are of the various buildings for student on-campus living; one of them is a great view of the sea-side location.
